AI Agent Setup Simplification

Overview

With this update, most changes to the AI Agent (AIA) now go through a publishing flow, instead of being applied directly to the live environment.

What's in this article

Key Change

  • Before: Changes were applied directly in Live Mode (no test/publish step).

  • Now: A new Test Mode is introduced — similar to the Preview feature in Workflows. Most changes can now be tested before being published to ensure the AI Agent is built and deployed as intended.

The Publishing Flow

  1. Make updates in Test Mode.

  2. Click Publish, then confirm with Publish Changes.

  3. Changes are applied to Live Mode.

    • Once live, the AI Agent can be shared via the Integrations tab.

Features Requiring the Publishing Flow

The following features must be edited in Test Mode and published before changes appear in Live:

  • Customization

  • Sources

  • Actions

🔒 Changes to these features cannot be made directly in Live Mode.

Features Exempt from Publishing Flow

These can be updated directly in either Test or Live Mode:

  • Permissions (now displayed in a dialog from the toolbar)

  • AI Agent settings

  • Deleting an AI Agent

Mode-Specific Features

Live Mode only

• Channels (formerly Integrations): Sharing options are now available in the Chat Bot Interface within the Channels tab.

Test Mode only

  • Preview: Enables in-app chatbot testing before publishing changes.

Other Notable Changes

  • The Start Training button in the Sources tab has been removed.
Training now occurs automatically when a source is added.
