February 2026 Release Notes

A lot of big changes this month. In Workflow, the e-sign block is split into separate DocuSign and Adobe Sign blocks. AI Agent adds SharePoint folder sync into sources (early access) and PDFs as sources. In Matter Management, you get matter comments (including from the Requester Portal) and internal notes in their own area within comments.

Workflow

Features

DocuSign and Adobe Sign blocks

E-signature is split into dedicated DocuSign and Adobe Sign blocks so you can use each provider’s capabilities. You can still send agreements for signature, and you can prepare envelopes inside Checkbox—recipients and where tags sit on the document—before sending.

For setup details, see DocuSign and Adobe Sign.

Read-only form fields

You can show pre-filled answers as read-only so respondents see them but cannot change them, using the JavaScript block (for example setReadOnly() and unsetReadOnly()). See the JAVASCRIPT Block guide.

Bulk import without activation emails (SSO)

Organizations using single sign-on (SSO) can bulk-import users without sending account activation emails. Contact Checkbox Support to request this for your workspace.

AI Agent (AIA)

Features

SharePoint as a source

You can connect SharePoint folders so their files sync one way into AI Agent sources. The agent can use those documents when responding without you uploading each file separately in Checkbox.

PDF support

PDFs can be used as AI sources, including PDFs you upload manually.

Enhancements

  1. Citation modal — Citations link straight to the underlying source for quicker checking.
  2. Start Workflow action — New actions have Automatically progress workflow turned on by default.

Matter Management

Features

  1. Matter comments — Requesters and your legal team can discuss on the platform. Comments support @mentions and can notify the requester and assignee by email. Notification behaviour can be adjusted for your organisation if needed.
  2. Requester Portal — Requesters can add comments on matters from the portal.

Enhancements

  1. Internal notes — Internal notes live in their own area within comments instead of the email thread, so internal discussion stays separate from client email.
  2. Rich text in comments — The comment editor has been updated and will be the basis for more editors over time (for example email and Slack).
  3. Boards — Boards remember your personal preferences, including search terms and page size.
